The Eco-Tech Recycle Club is a newly founded club at The Annie Walsh Memorial School. It was created to promote recycling and environmental responsibility. Our aim is to reduce plastic waste and encourage creative reuse of plastic materials. Though we are at it prime stage, we are determined to make a lasting impact through teamwork and innovation.
The idea for the club came from seeing how much waste especially things like rubbers and plastic, ends up being thrown away every day. We noticed how it affects not just our school but our communities and the country as a whole, contributing to global warming, climate change and making the environment messy, unhealthy and full of diseases. We wanted to do something about it instead of just talking about it. In bid to address this, we decided to come together to create fun through creative ways by reusing materials thereby making a difference in our society.
Despite being a new club, we have already started putting our ideas into action. So far, we have collected plastic, and rubbers which we have turned into resourceful items. We have also conducted clean up sessions around our school to make our surroundings tidier and healthier. It has been so much fun experimenting and seeing what we can create from things thrown away. Right now, we are working on a bigger project that we are keeping under the wraps but we can’t wait to share it soon.
We always enjoy what we do from creating amazing items out of plastic waste materials to spreading awareness about keeping our environment clean. Every activity brings us closer as a team, and we make sure to have fun while making a difference. Here are some pictorial evidences that show how passionate and creative we are in the process.
Every plastic bottle you see in those pictures is a piece of waste that didn’t end up in a landfill or the oceans. The Eco-Tech Recycle Club is not just about saving the planet (though we do that a lot) It’s about learning real skills.
We are using technology to change how our school handles plastic, turning everything from old bottle containers and bottle caps into brand new, reusable materials. If you’re into engineering, hands on project or you just hate seeing plastic going into waste, you belong here. We meet every Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in the chemistry lab.
