AWMS School Song

BUILDERS

Original Version Words & Music by TINA ATTKINS
1.
We want to build on a firm foundation
on the rock of integrity.
We want to set a good example
of truth and loyalty.

2.
If we can meet success or failure,
with courage and humble grace;
and work with zeal for our ideal-
in the world to take our place.

3.
We want to build on a firm foundation,
to keep life’s golden rule;
for Christ, the great Architect
made the plan we follow in
the Annie Walsh School.

BUILDING ON

Original words and melody by Mrs Rachel Lulu Wright (née Coker)
Arranged by Lynette Adjei MBE and Copyright- Wright/Adjei
Sung at Thanksgiving Services in 2019 and 175th celebrations in 2024.
1.
Our God we thank thee for the years,
Since eighteen forty-nine.
Our hearts rejoice with love and prayers,
For thou hast called us thine.
We build our school on thee, our Friend.
Our voices we will raise,
To hail the power that knows no end,
In words of hope and praise.

2.
Our school has risen and earned its fame,
With Christ as corner-stone.
Let us unite to guard its name,
Till all our days are done.
So every single life shall prove,
To be a pillar tall,
To grace our nation’s upward move,
And take care lest we fall.

3.
Now we shall strive in all we do
At home, at work, at play,
To be the best our whole life through
So God can have His way.
While selflessness and good for all.
Wherever we may be,
Shall be our song to great and small
And to posterity.
