Head Girl’s Statement

To the Esteemed Community of Annie Walsh Memorial School,

It is with a heart full of gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility that I contribute this message to our school’s enduring history. As the Head Girl for the 2025/2026 academic year, my tenure was guided by a simple, powerful belief that aligns perfectly with our school’s mission to nurture compassionate and principled leaders: every Pupil deserves a foundation of support to build a future of promise.

Our school’s vision calls us to be a beacon of excellence and integrity. This year, we sought to embody this by ensuring that excellence is not just an academic pursuit, but a holistic one, rooted in the emotional and moral well-being of every pupil. We recognized that a mind burdened by hardship cannot freely soar towards its potential.

With this in mind, my efforts were channeled into pillars of pastoral and academic support.

I served as a mentor and a listening ear, creating a safe space for Pupils navigating personal challenges. Special attention was given to offering counsel and solace to those who came from broken or unsupportive homes, reminding them that they are valued, capable, and deeply loved within these school walls.

  • To illuminate the path beyond our gates, we invited accomplished guests to discuss diverse career choices, providing real-world inspiration and demystifying the journey from the classroom to professional fulfilment.
  • Understanding that financial constraints should never be a barrier to understanding, we organized cost-free tutorial classes for core subjects, ensuring that every willing pupil has the tools to succeed.

These initiatives are not merely projects; they are a testament to our collective spirit. They are possible because of the generosity of teachers, the resilience of students, and the unwavering belief that we are our sisters’ keepers.

As my term concludes, my vision for the way forward is a sustained legacy of giving. I call upon every member of our vast and powerful Annie Walsh network—alumnae, parents, staff, and friends—to look upon your alma mater and ask, ” How can I give back?”

Your contribution, in any form, is a brick in the foundation of a future leader’s life. Whether through mentorship, material support for our programs, sharing your professional expertise, or simply offering a word of encouragement, your engagement is vital. Let us all become active architects in sustaining this culture of care and empowerment.

May future pupils who read this entry know that Annie Walsh Memorial School is more than a school; it is a family. A family that, in the year 2025/2026, reaffirmed its commitment to lifting every member, ensuring that each girl leaves these halls not only educated but empowered, resilient, and ready to light the world.

In Service and With Hope,

Previous Head girls

My name is Denicelia Ezabella Omojowo Nicol, and it is both an honour and a privilege to serve as the Head Girl of The Annie Walsh Memorial School. Since joining the Junior School in 2019 and transitioning to the Senior School in 2022, I have come to realize that our school is more than just a place of learning—it is a community rooted in the values of hard work, resilience, and compassion.

At The Annie Walsh, we are inspired to aim for excellence, embrace challenges, and support one another every step of the way. As Head Girl, I am dedicated to leading with integrity, supporting my peers, and upholding the values that make our school truly exceptional.

With determination, passion, and a shared sense of purpose, I believe there are no limits to what we can achieve. Let us continue to build on our strong foundation, knowing that whether we encounter success or setbacks, we are shaping a legacy of excellence.

The future is ours to create – let’s make it extraordinary.
